release of their first new
material in three years – an EP
of four new tracks due for
release in October.

The lead track 'Splitting The Atom’
features Robert Del Naja, Grant
Marshall and Horace Andy, while
TV On The Radio frontman Tunde
Adebimpe guests on 'Pray For Rain’.
The EP also has remixes of two new
tracks. 'Psyche’ featuring Martina
Topley-Bird is given the re-rub by
Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid who
have recently remixed Bat For Lashes
and The Big Pink, while the Guy
Garvey fronted 'Bulletproof Love’
is stripped back to a minimalist
reworking by Christoff Berg, who
alongside Van Rivers & The
Subliminal Kid produced the Fever

Bob Dylan's Act of Kindness
All of Bob Dylan’s international
royalties from his forthcoming
album of holiday songs, Christmas
In The Heart - which is being
released on Monday, October 12 -
will be donated to the World
Food Programme and Crisis UK in
perpetuity, it was announced today
by Columbia Records.

provide 500,000 meals to school
children in the developing world
during the holidays through the WFP
and 15,000 meals to homeless people
in the United Kingdom during the
eight days of Christmas

hunger worldwide, aiming to feed
108 million people in 74 countries

Johnny Depp Directing Video for Babybird
Johnny Depp is directing a music video.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor was
spotted in the UK shooting the new promo
for British band Babybird.
RadarOnline reports: 'A scruffy Johnny
Depp was snapped in the UK on the set
of a Babybird music video he is
directing.

an abusive father helped her become
a successful singer.

victim of domestic abuse when she

London-based band of rabble-rousers
WALL STREET RIOTS will be putting
out a self-release of the eagerly
awaited single 'One More Ride’ on
September 28th. The track is backed
with a very special remix of the
single, by LostProphet Ian Watkins
under his L’Amour La Morgue side
project.

'Playground Politics’, was released
digitally back in May and caused an
online frenzy when sites and blogs
praised them with 5/5 reviews and
tipped them as the next big thing.

Duran Duran to do a Classic
DURAN DURAN are set to record a
version of a classic Midnight Oil
track in a bid to raise climate
change awareness.
The 80s pop band have teamed up
with 55 other artists and
celebrities - including Sir Bob
Geldof, German rockers The Scorpions,
French actress Marion Cotillard
and singer Youssou N'Dour - to add
their voices to the cover of the
1987 song 'Beds are Burning'.

Taylor Swift accepts Apology from Kanye
Kanye West has personally apologized for
his outburst at the MTV Video Music
Awards (VMAs).
The rapper has finally said sorry to
19-year-old pop singer Taylor Swift – who
was awarded the prize for the Best Female
Video on Sunday (13.08.09) - after he
ran onto the stage during her acceptance
speech, snatched her microphone and told
the star-studded audience he thought
Beyonce Knowles deserved to win.

he was very sincere in his apology, and
I accepted that apology.'

Norah Jones New Album
Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer

announced the title and release date
of her upcoming album, The Fall, her
fourth studio album which will be
released by EMI’s Blue Note Records

Grohl Not Happy with Guitar Hero Creators
DAVE GROHL has slammed the makers of a computer
game that features Kurt Cobain.
Grohl and his fellow former Nirvana bandmate
Krist Novoselic hit out at game giant
Activision after they created a Cobain
character for Guitar Hero 5, which was released
last week.

The late Cobain's creation can be used to play
two Nirvana songs, as well as a range of 85
tracks by other artists - a move which has left
Grohl and Novoselic "dismayed and very
disappointed".

Michael Jackson's resting place
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's
family and about 200 of their closest friends
gathered on a hill Thursday evening for their final
farewell to the pop singer, who died 10 weeks ago.

Jackson's burial may lay to rest some of the
mystery and controversy that erupted with his
sudden death on June 25.
His large family was divided over where the
superstar's final resting place should be, but
matriarch Katherine Jackson settled on a crypt
inside the well-guarded and ornate Great Mausoleum
at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California.

announced start time, leaving dozens of

Jackson's Internment

days after his sudden death, Michael
Jackson will be interred in what may or
may not be his final resting place

attend the private funeral inside the
ornate Great Mausoleum on the grounds
of Forest Lawn cemetery in
Glendale, California.
The news media, which has closely covered
every aspect of Jackson's death, will be

ceremony, though CNN has confirmed that

Oasis No More for Noel Gallagher
Lead guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher
has quit Oasis, according to a statement he
posted to the band's website. The announcement
came shortly after the last-minute
cancellation of the group's scheduled
performance today at the Rock En Seine
festival in Paris.

"It's with some sadness and great relief to
tell you that I quit Oasis tonight," Gallagher
wrote. "People will write and say what they
like, but I simply could not go on working
with Liam a day longer."
Noel's brother and Oasis lead singer/guitarist
Liam Gallagher founded the band in 1991 with
Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCaroll.
Noel joined shortly thereafter and took over
as Oasis' lead songwriter. The Gallagher
brothers are the longest-standing members of
the band; the rest of the current lineup
includes guitarist/keyboardist Colin Archer,
bassist Andy Bell and drummer
