New YouTube series boosts country music The Tennessean'(YouTube) is really starting to change the game a bit when it comes to the traditional models of music, especially country music,' said Dominic Sandifer, president of Country Now and Greenlight Media & Marketing. 'We are looking at what we hope is a paradigm shift in how you can actually create a hit.'
While several artists in other genres have used YouTube as a launching pad to mainstream audiences, country music has fewer examples as radio remains the primary music discovery platform for those listeners. It isn't that country fans are not on YouTube, it's just that they don't typically use it as a means to explore new music, Sandifer said.
